Recurrence of Pancreatic Cancer(PCa) is a multifactorial event. Based on the clinicopathological characteristics and imaging data of patients with PCa, the investigators used image processing and machine learning algorithms to build a more comprehensive and robust model, and added some unused features to explore its clinical application value.
A retrospective analysis of patients with PCa who underwent radical resection at Zhejiang Cancer Hospital (Hangzhou, China) from January 2013 to December 2020. The database was extracted from the preoperative demographics, blood markers, and surgical pathology information of patients undergoing radical PCa surgery in the investigators' hospital. The investigators used the PyRadiomics platform to extract image features.
The goal of this imaging study is to evaluate and improve the treatment planning techniques for abdominal radiation therapy. To accurately treat a tumor with radiation, Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Images (MRI) are used to distinguish a tumor from normal, healthy tissue. However the quality of these images can be distorted by motion from breathing. To decrease motion, a patient may be asked to hold their breath or compress the abdomen, but currently there is no standard or best management option for all patients.
This study will explore the use continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), a pressurized breathing mask, during MRI or CT imaging to decrease motion in the abdomen and produce higher quality images. With these additional images, we will also explore the feasibility of creating treatment plans using the CPAP MRI images alone.
Pancreatic cancer continues to have a poor prognosis. Many patients are diagnosed with advanced disease. In a considerable proportion of these patients, the tumor has contact with or invades into arterial blood vessels supplying the liver or bowel. Moreover, some patients have anatomical variations or Stenosis of these vessels. All such cases require a surgical reconstruction of the blood vessels upon pancreatic cancer resection in order to prevent that the liver or bowel are not sufficiently supplied with blood anymore. Performing such arterial reconstruction in one operation along with tumor resection is associated with a relevant risk of complications or even death.
This trial evaluates if the approach of 'visceral debranching', i.e. surgical reconstruction of arterial blood vessels supplying the liver or bowel, prior to chemotherapy and finally tumor resection in patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer, is feasible.
The objective is to compare efficacy and safety of masitinib in combination with gemcitabine to placebo in combination with gemcitabine, in treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer and who have pain related to the disease.

A study to collect survival data on patients previously enrolled in Abraxane pancreatic cancer study CA046.
The goal of this study is to test whether chemotherapy guided by a new imaging method named DCE-MRI can more effectively reduce a pancreatic tumor, enabling curable surgery, over the conventional method when a tumor is categorized as borderline resectable pancreatic cancer. UAB radiological research team has been studying a cutting-edge imaging technique named dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging, or DCE-MRI, for over 10 years. This technique has been globally used to calculate the blood flow of various tissues, including tumors. Blood flow often serves as a critical indicator showing a disease status. For example, a pancreatic tumor typically has low blood flow, so it can be used as an indicator to identify the presence of a pancreatic tumor. In addition, an effective therapy can result in the increase of blood flow in a pancreatic tumor during the early period of treatment. Therefore, the investigators may be able to determine whether the undergoing therapy is effective or not by measuring the change of blood flow in the pancreatic tumor and deciding whether to continue the therapy or try a different one.
The proposal aims at determining whether liquid biopsy approaches are valid in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Step1 will test 3 CTC isolation methods and analyse by flow cytometry the presence of onco-exosomes in the culture media of pancreatic cell lines. Step 2 will examine the diagnostic accuracy of these blood tumor elements for the diagnosis of cancer of patients with PDAC suspicion or recent diagnosis and their value for disease monitoring.
RATIONALE: Gathering information about patients with cancer may help doctors learn more about the disease and plan early diagnosis and treatment.
PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying computer tools for improving early diagnosis and treatment in patients with pancreatic cancer, are at risk for pancreatic cancer, or have a non-cancerous pancreatic disorder.
This phase II study is to evaluate the efficacy of preoperative chemoradiotherapy with gemcitabine (400mg/m2, weekly) for resectable pancreatic cancer.
