Predictive Value of Analysing Tissue From Patients With Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer for Drug Sensitivity

It will be investigated whether it is possible to predict the effect or lack of effect of first-line treatment by analysing cancer cells from the individual patient receiving standard first line treatment. Also, the feasibility of selecting second-line therapy based on pre-treatment biopsies will be investigated.

Cells from pancreatic cancer will be grown in the laboratory to form small, circulating tumors and adjacent tissue, so called tumoroids. The tumoroids will then be exposed to different pre-specified anticancer drugs to hopefully reveal sensitivity or lack of sensitivity in the specific patient.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) and Onco-exosome Quantification in the Diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer – PANC-CTC

The proposal aims at determining whether liquid biopsy approaches are valid in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Step1 will test 3 CTC isolation methods and analyse by flow cytometry the presence of onco-exosomes in the culture media of pancreatic cell lines. Step 2 will examine the diagnostic accuracy of these blood tumor elements for the diagnosis of cancer of patients with PDAC suspicion or recent diagnosis and their value for disease monitoring.

Study of Pemetrexed for Second-Line Pancreas Cancer

This study is for patients with pancreatic cancer that has grown and/or spread after having previously received the standard chemotherapy drug called gemcitabine.

In this study a drug called pemetrexed is being tested. This drug is approved by the FDA for use in lung cancer and mesothelioma. The purpose of this study is to see if pemetrexed keeps pancreas cancer that has grown and/or spread after gemcitabine from growing. Subjects will receive pemetrexed IV once every 21 days until disease progression or unacceptable side effects occur.

Dovitinib Lactate in Treating Patients With Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors

This phase II trial studies how well dovitinib lactate works in treating patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Dovitinib lactate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of IM92 CAR-T Cells Therapy in Patients With Advanced Gastric or Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

This is a open-label, single center to determine the efficacy and safety of IM92 CAR-T cells in Patients With advanced gastric/esophagogastric combination adenocarcinoma that has failed at least second-line therapy and advanced pancreatic cancer that has failed at least first-line therapy.

IMPact of AerobiC Exercise in Addition to Nutritional Treatment on Quality of Life After Pancreatectomy

The goal of this interventional study is to assess the impact of a 6-month unsupervised aerobic exercise program on the quality of life of patients undergoing partial or total pancreatectomy. The main question it aims to answer is:

Does an aerobic exercise program improve physical functioning and overall quality of life in post-pancreatectomy patients?

Eligible participants will be assigned to either an exercise group or a control group. Quality of life will be evaluated using standardized scoring scales, with a focus on physical functioning. Secondary outcomes include changes in metabolic parameters (glycemia, HbA1c, lipid profile), BMI, and overall survival.

Registry of Patients Undergoing Endoscopic Management of Pancreatic Fluid Collections

Acute pancreatitis is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders requiring hospitalization worldwide. Pancreatic fluid collections can occur as a consequence of acute and chronic pancreatitis and can result in significant morbidity and mortality, including significant abdominal pain, gastric outlet obstruction, biliary obstruction, organ failure, persistent unwellness, infection and sepsis.

Symptomatic pancreatic fluid collections require treatment, and endoscopic drainage is considered standard of care. The aim of this study is to evaluate the treatment outcomes in patients undergoing standard of care, endoscopic treatment of pancreatic fluid collections.

Clinical Outcomes of Preservation Versus Resection of Portal/Superior Mesenteric Vein During Pancreaticoduodenectomy in Pancreatic Cancer Patients Who Respond to Neoadjuvant Treatment

1. There is a lack of evidence on the need to perform portal/superior mesenteric vein (PV/SMV) resection routinely in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients with venous involvement who responded to neoadjuvant treatment (NAT).
2. There is no significant differences in R0 rate, 5-year overall survival and recurrence-free survival between the PV/SMV preservation (PVP) group and PV/SMV resection (PVR) group.
3. PVP group showed significantly better 5-year PV/SMV stenosis free survival than the PVR group.
4. We propose that if dissection is possible and there is a high likelihood of achieving R0 resection after NAT, routine PVR may be unnecessary in PDAC patients with venous involvement.

Erlotinib Combined With Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Newly Diagnosed Locally Advanced or Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer or Other Solid Tumors

RATIONALE: Erlotinib may interfere with the growth of tumor cells and slow the growth of the tumor. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining erlotinib with gemcitabine may kill more tumor cells.

PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combining erlotinib with gemcitabine in treating patients who have newly diagnosed locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer or other solid tumors.

Clinical Utility Study for Exo-PDAC

This is a national-level research study of oncologists, interventional gastroenterologists, and primary care providers. The purpose of this study is to assess the clinical evaluation and management (drug, procedures, counseling and other) of a subset of common patient care indications.
