Study of Ruxolitinib in Pancreatic Cancer Patients

The purpose of this study was to determine whether ruxolitinib added to capecitabine is effective in improving the overall survival of patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Collecting Blood and Tissue Samples From Family Members of Patients With Pancreatic Diseases, Pancreatic Cancer, and Melanoma

RATIONALE: Collecting and storing samples of blood and tissue from family members of patients with cancer to test in the laboratory may help the study of cancer in the future.

PURPOSE: This clinical trial is collecting blood and tissue samples from family members of patients with pancreatic disease, pancreatic cancer, and melanoma.

Pembrolizumab and Pelareorep in Treating Patients With Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

This phase II trial studies the side effects and how well pembrolizumab in combination with pelareorep work in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may induce changes in the body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. A virus, called reovirus (pelareorep), which has been changed in a certain way, may be able to kill tumor cells without damaging normal cells. Giving pembrolizumab in combination with pelareorep may work better in treating patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.

Developing New Educational Materials About Genetic Testing for a Diverse Group of Cancer Patients

Genetic testing is a type of test that detects changes to the genes-the DNA instructions that are passed on from the mother and father. The results of a genetic test can confirm whether the participant has a genetic disorder, which is a disease caused in whole or in part by changes to the genes. Genetic testing can also help determine a person's chance of getting or passing on a genetic disorder. Genetic tests use a sample of blood, hair, skin, or other tissue, and they can look at one gene or multiple genes at the same time. Genetic testing may change the options for treating people with certain types of cancer. For example, some medications are more helpful for the treatment of cancer in people with certain gene changes (mutations).

The researchers are doing this study to develop new educational materials about genetic testing for people who speak different languages and have diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. During the study, the staff will interview participants with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and ask them to review a sample of the educational materials that have been developed so far. Participants will give their opinions on these materials, and the researchers will use participants' feedback to improve the materials.

A New Anatomical Classification of Portal Vein Location of Pancreas Tumors

In this retrospective study, we recorded the location of pancreatic tumors and relation/proximity to the portal vein. The surgical difficulty and requirement of additional interventions were also evaluated.

Ntraperitoneal Thermal Perfusion Combined With Chemotherapy Versus Chemotherapy

In view of the existence of malignant ascites in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer, we put forward the heat abdominal cavity perfusion chemotherapy combined albumin paclitaxel and gemcitabine compared with albumin paclitaxel and gemcitabine prospective clinical study, to assess abdominal albumin hot perfusion chemotherapy combined control of ascites and taxol in improving patients' quality of life, survival, exploring the feasibility of celiac hot perfusion chemotherapy combined albumin paclitaxel and side effects.

The Effectiveness of Adding Braun Anastomosis to Standard Child Reconstruction After Pancreatoduodenectomy

The goal of this clinical trial (REMBRANDT) is to evaluate the effectiveness of adding an extra connection (i.e. 'Braun anastomosis') after standard reconstruction in pancreatic head resection in reducing the incidence of delayed gastric emptying.

Electroporation (NanoKnife) as Treatment for Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

The aim for this study is to implement electroporation therapy (NanoKnife) treatment for patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer. Electroporation therapy (NanoKnife) will be given in addition to standard chemotherapy.

Randomized Trial of Restrictive Versus Liberal Perioperative Fluid Management for Patients Undergoing Pancreatic Resection

The purpose of this study is to help us learn what the best amount of fluid is that patients should receive during pancreas surgery. Patients will receive either the liberal fluid amount for this surgery or a restricted fluid amount.

Both amounts of fluid have been used safely in patients having similar surgeries. These amounts have not been compared in pancreatic surgery. The fluids regimens that will be given are not experimental.

This study will compare patients in the liberal and restricted fluid groups in terms of the nature of any surgical complications (problems)and recovery from surgery, including length of hospital stay.

A Study of the Efficacy of Cannabidiol in Patients With Multiple Myeloma, Glioblastoma Multiforme, and GI Malignancies

A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel, Multi-Center Study to Assess the Efficacy of BRCX014 Combined with Standard-Of-Care Treatment in Subjects with Glioblastoma Multiforme, Multiple Myeloma, and GI Malignancies
