Driven by personal loss and powered by compassion, Rhonda built a national nonprofit to ensure no pancreatic cancer patient fights alone.
What started as a deeply personal mission has grown into something much greater, impacting lives and building hope along the way.
Rhonda Williams founded the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in 2009 after watching a family member battle pancreatic cancer for five years. When Judy Hatfield lost her fight in January 2010, Rhonda witnessed firsthand the overwhelming emotional, medical, and financial burden that this disease places on patients and families, and the devastating lack of awareness and support available to them.
"Rhonda's goal is to provide personal and compassionate support to those who are affected by pancreatic cancer, because no one should have to face this diagnosis alone."
Rather than stepping back from the pain, Rhonda channeled it into action. She relocated out of Denver to grow the organization nationally, adapted to remote board management to keep costs low, and built a grassroots team of volunteers, board members, and advocates across the country. Her dedication has turned a personal tragedy into a movement that has touched hundreds of families nationwide.
